Butler Green Farms
One of the biggest challenges we face when wanting to clean up our diet is meal preparation. It takes some thought and a bit of time, but it doesn't have to be complicated. One of my favorite go to meals is fresh ground chicken (with a bit of taco seasoning), riced cauliflower and brussels sprouts with bacon. I swear I could eat this 4 times a day for weeks!
Riced cauliflower can be made at home by chopping up a head of cauliflower and sauteing with onion, a splash of olive oil, some garlic salt and pepper. You can also buy it riced from Trader Joes which is our choice. Just make sure you stock up because it sells out fast!
Butler Green Farms is a local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) on Bainbridge that allows you to shop a few times each week (Tuesdays and Thursdays 2-7pm) at their location on Lovgreen Rd. As a CSA member, you and your family become an integral part of the farm. Your financial support allows them to continue providing food for the community, as well as educational programs to cultivate the next generation of farmers. We purchase the bulk of our salad greens, eggs and other vegetables from them. They have a small market set up so you only purchase when and what you want. Their produce and meat tastes so fresh and we are proud to be supporting our local community.
