#800g Nutrition Challenge
Summer has come to an end, and it's time to clean up our eating! During the month of September we will be running the #800g challenge which means your goal is to eat 800 grams of fruit and/or veggies each day. No other rules, nothing to eliminate; you can eat whatever else you want, AND pick the fruits and vegetables you want.
Why 800 grams?
It is based on research by Aune et al. (2017) who found that eating 800 grams of fruit and vegetables was associated with better health outcomes. It has become a great metric for quality in the diet. People have reported better energy, better performance, and weight loss. There can only be an upside to eating real food!
But won't I be eating alot of carbs?
It depends on your choices. Eating primarily low glycemic (broccoli, cauliflower, spinach) options will be ~40g of carbs and biasing higher glycemic items (potatoes, bananas, yucca) will be ~200g of carbs.
