Why CrossFit for Teens?
Obesity and type 2 diabetes are the most common, preventable childhood diseases in the United States today. Note I said preventable. Teens are busier, yet more inactive as ever, and food (processed food mind you) has never been more affordable and accessible. So what's the solution? Teens need to move more and eat REAL food.
CrossFit is not just a strength and conditioning program, it's a lifestyle. We discuss things like what is real food and how does it fuel our bodies? We teach the value of hard work, integrity, honesty and teamwork. We encourage teens to focus on the amazing things their bodies are capable of doing, not on how they look. They learn to support one another, celebrate effort and each other's successes. They become part of a strong and positive community.
I know I can't pick my childrens' friends, but I can do my best to surround them with healthy, positive people who share a lifestyle that I want them to love for life.
